You can try contacting the acquiring company.They usually also have all the records of the company they bought and may be able to give you a letter of employment or a HR contact who can respond to employment verification requests.I did this with my old company which got acquired after I quit, and the acquiring company obliged.They also discovered I had some uncollected pay, which I still need to cash out.:o
Fortunately, in my case, it never went that far where the IO was verifying all that information.Is this IO processing your G325A document?

USCIS adjudicators follow a manual and very specific set of procedures as laid out by their headquarters.Sometimes in the gray areas or areas of interpretation they are given wide latitude in how to interpret those rules.

My arguments apply to people with a single home to worry about.People who want to move from apartment into a house of their own.
Managing a rental property (when you have more than one house, you have to rent the other houses), is a totally different ball game.I have no personal experience with that field, but am actively considering it.It doesn't cost you much money to think/study about it, right?:)
he is /was talking about buying 2-3 houses.BTW that was then (2001) and this is now ..between then and now ..millions and millions of houses have been built and given to people with zero / no / absolutely no credit / downpayment.BTW I buy stocks when it is low and sell when it is high ..buying 2 houses or even 1 house in place like california ..is a big big thing (since no lender will give you loan unless you put in atleast 10 % ( 15 % - if you want to avoid PMI) ..just for argument sake ..say even if a person buy 3 adjacent (if u are lucky) houses (not townhomes) ..do you then buy 3 mowers or move them from 1 yard to another ?3 bills ..prop / hoa / utilities ..it is a nightmare to even think about it ..and more so when you read articles from experts and economists who say prices will fall 15% more ..best is to have diversified portfolio with minimum expense (3 homes is big big expense)

Ofcourse I am unbias.
I can't even begin to think how many people I know; cases I know from people who are from india.
I'd say that it is less then 3% from people with other countries.
As another poster rightly said that many of the issues happening is mainly to India because it takes so long to get the greencard and eventually everyone gets into these issues.
Non indians don't face many issues because they get the greencard so fast; and hence they go through very little issues (generally).If other countires had to wait so long then everyone would also have similar types of issues.
Since most of the forums are related to IT and Indians then if I ever broach on something a little negative or give different perspective then people look at my profile and see I was born in Pakistan and think there is some bias there.
btw; I left when I was five years old and hardly knew any pakistanis/indians when I was growing up and for what it is worth my wife is Hindu.
Your posts are arguably best on this forum.I have religiously read all your posts and will do in future.Your posts always make sense.I just wish we could get more insight and perspective from you.Great work.Keep them coming.
What are your thoughts on h1bs/GC sponsored by universities.Do you forsee any problems with them?Also any insight on long time it takes for visa stamping?
