Cheerleading has evolved into an elite activity full of athletic components.As a cheerleader today, you must cheer, dance, jump, tumble and perform stunts.Before every practice and performance, you should complete a thorough warmup to loosen up your muscles and lessen your chance of injury.Do dynamic stretching, a form of stretching that uses movement, and prepare your body for action.Unless otherwise noted, do eight repetitions of the dynamic stretching motions.
Cardiovascular Warmup
Start your warmup with cardio to get blood flowing to your muscles.Alternate sets of 25 jumping jacks with 10 of each of the following exercises.In the jump and roll, jump up and then lower yourself to the ground to roll up onto your shoulder blades before rolling back up and returning to your feet.Killer pushups are done by jumping into the air, bending down to place your hands on the ground, thrusting your feet out into a pushup position, and pulling your feet back in to return to standing.Start jumping lunges with your feet together, spring up and land in a lunge with your left foot forward.Spring immediately back up switching your legs in the air to land with your right foot forward.Finally, do sumo squats by starting with your feet together, stepping out to the side and landing in a deep squat with both legs, pushing back up to center, immediately stepping out to the other side, and returning to center.Repeat this series of exercises until five to 10 minutes have pa*sed.
Neck and Torso
Perform these motions to warm up your neck through your core.Nod your head up and down, being careful not to tip your head back too far.Turn your head side-to-side, looking over your right shoulder and then your left.Lower your right ear to your right shoulder and then repeat on the other side.Place your hands on the sides of your thighs and do side bends back and forth, reaching for the side of your knee or lower.Pull your fists up underneath your chin, keeping your lower body stationery, twist side-to-side.With your hands on your hips, circle your hips as if you were using a hula hoop.Circle eight times in one direction before switching directions.
Arms
Move on to movements that will warmup your arms and shoulders.With your hands dangling at your sides, roll your shoulders up toward your ears and then back eight times before switching and rolling forward.Swing your arms in front of your body, crossing the left arm over the right, behind you attempting to touch your arms together, in front crossing the right arm over the left, and again behind you getting them as close together as possible.Circle your arms widely, first backward for eight times and then forward eight times.
Legs
Stand near a wall, placing one hand on it for balance.Make sure to do both sides of these exercises prior to moving on to the next movement in the series.Transfer your weight to one leg, swinging your other leg forward and back.Keep the swinging leg straight and attempt to get the leg higher with each kick.Lift your knee to the front, lightly tapping your foot on the ground in between knee lifts.Keep your torso straight and lift your knee higher each time.Pointing your knee down to the ground, kick your heel up to hit your rear end, again tapping your foot on the ground in between repetitions.Finally, rise up on the balls of your feet and then rock back onto your heels, lifting your toes off the ground.

Now this woman who left a 2 year old child in her car for eight hours (and the kid died) is not going to get any type of punishment."Union Township police released security camera video on Tuesday that showed that Nesselroad-Slaby returned to the SUV five times during the day, and once moved the SUV to another location in the parking lot." So first, this woman had ample time to notice.Second, she has done this multiple times before-- it wasn't a one-time thing.

She's not getting prosecuted, not even for negligence, child endangerment, or negligent death.I understand she's a mother and losing her child is horrible and she's suffered...but that baby suffered a lot more than she has.

So what do you think about this?Should the law care more about it?Should she get prosecuted?Why or why not?And lastly, please state what religion you are.
And I forgot to mention that this is not the first time-- but the third-- that this woman had admitted to leaving her child in the heat alone.Also, she moved the car taht day and went to the car five times that day...so is this negligence or something else?Should this be investigated more?

Speaking in terms of the law, she is at least guilty of Criminal Negligence, Child Endangerment, or Child Neglect. Perhaps even manslaughter. The law should be kept seperate from religion.

Prosecuting someone has less to do with the law or morality than your question implies. Would this mother be sent to jail? Most likely no. The charge would successfully be plea bargained down to no time served, so it would just be a waste of tax payer money.

I am an atheist and I think she should definitely be punished. No good mother would leave a child in a car for eight hours. She deserves to be tried for negligent homicide at the very least. No doubt she feels very guilty but leaving a child alone for that amount of time is pure stupidity.

I'm in agreement with most of the answers here. I don't understand how someone can "forget" their child. Granted, I'm probably not a candidate for 'mother of the year', but even I know where my child is at all times and I am constantly aware of her presence. This is not a simple matter of neglect, it is murder. Maybe involuntary, but murder all the same. The maximum penalty should be sought in this case. Either a life or death sentence should be applied to anyone who kills their child with intent or carelessness.MamaBear I disagree with that decision.While accidents can be hard to avoid, this was no accident.This child died as a result of criminal neglect.Should the law care?YES!!!

The purpose of law is to guide an otherwise ignorant society into order (and away from disorder); to teach responsibility and punish the irresponsible; to set standards of behaviour and enforce those standards; to provide for and protect an ordered society, so people can live in it.

This woman violated the most basic standard of her job as a mother: she abdicated from caring for her child, and her child died as a result.Her donuts were more important to her than the life of another human being!The Law, having already established a standard of "neglect of a minor" and levels of criminal neglect, needs to act in this case, or it forfeits its power in society.Why make laws that are not going to be enforced?

We also need to be cautious about the precedents we set in this case.If one woman can ignore her child to death, and call it an "accident", why can't another "accidently" poison her son's dinner, by confusing rat poison for boxed Domino sugar (since the woman with the SUV claimed to have been distracted....)?Why can't a father give his daughter a "much needed spanking", and "accidently" beat her to death?How many things can be written off as "accidents", to avoid prosecution?

I believe this woman should face justice of some type, for her actions (and lack therof) resulted in the ending of a human life.That life was explicitly in HER CARE.At the very least, she should be tried for manslaughter and child neglect.After all, if this is how she cares for someone she is responsible for, how will she act to the rest of society?When she is driving her car, doing her job, etc.?There is no maternal tie between her and the rest of the world, that she should care so much as to be careful...

So today will be 2 weeks that Nathan and I are settling into our new home in Salado, TX.It has been an experience living in «the country.» I almost stepped on a scorpion that mysteriously got in.He did a great job of playing dead, until Nathan helped him reach his ultimate doom.I’ll give it to Nathan, he tried to save the poor creature but he was a squirmer.So he squashed it with a tuperware.В We have created quite a bird habitat in our backyard.We have several bird feeders and baths, so Nature Nathan is in full affect!It is wonderful living in a house!So much space!This weekend we will start hanging pictures and paintings and it should start feeling more like our home.
Yesterday I had my follow up with Dr.Soliman at MDA and everything is healing as it should.В I will continue to see her for follow-ups with my next appointment being end of October.Once Nathan and I get the all clear to get pregnant, I will find a gynecologist in Temple who specializes in high risk pregnancies and they will co-manage with Dr.Soliman.Scott and White is a LARGE facility in Temple and I should have no trouble.So it was a great visit.
We are looking forward to labor day weekend and spending it with family at Lake Livingston.And then end of September Nathan and I head to CA for a wedding of my «little brother» Johnny Serpa.I am so excited!!!В It will be quite the event.В But even before all that, I turn 33 years old on Monday.My thoughtful mother stocked me up with some great gift cards, so I think I shall spend the day shopping in Austin.Anywhere there is air-conditioning!В (I have chosen not to bore you all with weather talk, but we are like on our 70th day of over 100 degrees!And the biggest drought TX has even seen!Ridiculous!) В I had a great time during my visit to CA (and I laughed when my mom said it was hot at 93 degrees.Ok..no more weather talk).В Reese was my little companion and I loved spending time with her.I got to attend one of Jackson’s football practices and he is such a little man!He plays offense and defense.В Luckily Nathan will be able to see one of his games this year.В I also got to spend time with John, my best friend Vanessa’s son.If I knew how to post pictures and videos to this blog I would!(Maybe I’ll investigate that .) The kid is 10 months old and can already swim!В There was also a Minnie Maids reunion with my girls (minus Gina, as she was still in London).The В most exciting moment is when I introduced Reese to the movie Grease 2.Such a great cheese film.Gina, Vanessa, and I grew up watching it even before seeing the original Grease.I would recommend watching it with an open mind.The lyrics of the songs alone are so worth it.
My next mission, besides setting up our house, is finding a job!!!!!I would ideally love something using my degree, but would be open to anything that fits my experience.Salado is a pretty small town, but there are larger towns all around us.There is even a great Christian college nearby called University Mary Hardin Baylor that I’d love to look into.Nathan is loving the short commute to work now and that he can come home for lunch.But I think he is most excited about Direct TV giving us the NFL Sunday Ticket for free!Every single game televised for our enjoyment.And I will enjoy playing the «Name Game» and «Commentator Dirty Talk» with my sister.(Just ask if you would like to join in.)
So our second year living in Texas has already had a great beginning.Our first year had us face many hard life lessons and experiences.However, we felt the Lord guiding us all the way.Sometimes we would be thinking, «Really God?!I mean, really???» And at others times it was- «I put this all in your hands Lord.Give me the strength, peace, and compa*sion that only you can provide.» We are both confident that we are much stronger than we ever thought.So hey .if any of you Texans want to visit The Best Art Town in Texas, come to Salado!We got a blow up bed with your name on it .unless you know of someone wanting to get rid or sell a bed = )
