Our brains change as we grow older and sometimes what worked before doesn't work now. A month on a new medication isn't enough to discern if that is the case here. I'd give it another 60 days perhaps or consult with your doctor. Beer does not mix with Zoloft. It will cause dizziness and drowsiness and yes, in some cases, will increase your anxiety due to these side effects. You have to lay off the alcohol and give the medicine a chance to work. If you continue to drink while on zoloft you won't get a complete picture of the benefits, if any, that you are receiving from the drug. Good luck!

Well, it takes Zoloft approximately 2-4 weeks to start working, perhaps just a bit more. Since Zoloft is most often used for anxiety and depression it contains properties that should not be taken with beer or any kind of alcohol or any other form of depressant. I'm not sure about the wh*le only weekend drinking thing, but I would def.check with the Dr. I wish I could've been of more help.
