A decision to place black dolls in Colorado nurseries has caused anger in the American community.The state of Colorado recently proposed new regulations for day care centres to house at least three different races of dolls.
According to reports, a number of angry parents have opposed the ruling and some nursery owners have even blasted the idea.
Day care owner Roberta Nicolosi told radio station KKCO: «They are infringing on a lot of our rights.[We’re not giving parents a choice.We’re not giving children a choice.We’re not giving caregivers a choice.»
Meredith Carroll, writer for popular baby care website, Strollerderby, said that she believed enforcing nurseries to carry «dolls of at least three different races seems a bit silly, why not transgender or handicapped dolls, too, while they’re at it?»
